Project Background

As global competition continued to intensify, a China based motor manufacturer began looking for an automated production solution that could lower manufacturing costs and improve its overall market competitiveness.

Our Solution & Technology

Our engineering team conducted an on site assessment of the customer’s factory and reviewed the motor production process in detail. During the evaluation, we found that the motor fastening operation required workers to handle relatively heavy motors, which created safety risks. The task was also highly repetitive, making it a strong candidate for automation. Based on these factors, the customer decided to automate the motor screw fastening process.

To support this goal, we designed and built an automated screw fastening system that integrates motor loading, positioning and clamping, screw feeding, alignment and fastening, fastening result verification, and unloading. The equipment was developed with a modular design to support future expansion and flexible upgrades. We also reserved interfaces for MES and other factory systems, making it easier to manage process data and support future digital integration.

Project Results

Our engineering team installed and commissioned the equipment on site, then provided one month of production ramp up support to help the customer achieve stable operation. The system is able to complete screw fastening for 60 motors per hour, delivering a throughput that is 2.5 times higher than manual operation. It also improved fastening consistency and reduced surface scratches caused by manual handling during the process. By automating the handling and fastening steps, the solution also helped lower operator safety risk.
