Higher Output and Safer End of Line Stacking for Dense, Heavy Master Cases

A U.S. based dairy producer wanted to improve end of line stacking after case packing on fresh milk packaging lines. The customer planned to implement an automated palletizing system within an existing 4 m by 4 m manual stacking area to improve stacking efficiency and reduce operator safety risk.

Our approach

Robotlyne delivered a robotic palletizing system designed to focus on a single task: master case stacking. The solution uses a modular, multipurpose robot with a 180 kg payload, capable of picking up to four master cases per cycle. The robot picks finished master cases from a defined pickup position, identifies the product model using a camera, and then applies a pre configured stacking pattern to build the correct load for each model.

The Results

We installed and commissioned the robot on site. The robot picks master cases delivered by the conveyor and places them onto pallets. Each pallet holds 40 cases, totaling 960 bottles, and the system completes one full pallet in under 2 minutes.

Six times faster palletizing

Pallet build time dropped from manual stacking to under 2 minutes per pallet, delivering up to a 6x increase in palletizing efficiency.

Safer than manual stacking

Robotic palletizing reduced repetitive lifting and heavy handling at end of line, lowering operator risk and improving overall workplace safety.
