Project Background

An electronics assembly company needed a more efficient way to store and supply small parts used in production. To support material delivery during line processing, we designed a mini load ASRS system that stores small components and feeds them to the production lines as needed. The system was also integrated with the customer’s ERP system and automated assembly lines to support a more connected and efficient production workflow.

Our Solution & Technology

To meet the customer’s material handling and integration requirements, we adopted a mini load ASRS stacker with laser and vision based navigation. The stacker can plan its own travel path without manual guidance, helping improve operating flexibility and reduce dependence on manual intervention.

Its built in lifting unit and telescopic fork mechanism allow smooth handoff with racks, production lines, sorting stations, and other connected equipment. With docking accuracy of up to ±5 mm, the system ensures reliable position alignment and helps prevent material drops during transfer.

To support connected factory operations, the system also includes open API interfaces for MES, WES, and ERP integration. This enables seamless system level coordination and real time data transmission across the customer’s warehouse and production environment.

Project Results

The mini load automated storage and retrieval system was successfully tested, deployed, and integrated into the customer’s existing software environment and automated production lines. To support a smooth start up, our engineering team stayed on site for one month of production support.

After deployment, the system operated steadily alongside the automated lines and replaced much of the manual work involved in moving parts to production. It also made it easier for the customer to organize and manage a large number of small components with greater visibility and control. As a result, the project helped reduce line side handling, improve material supply consistency, and indirectly lower production downtime, leading to higher overall efficiency.
